Last day

Today is the last day in Cambodia! Where has the time gone?!

Please keep praying that we stay safe. We fly out at midnight tonight and have an 11 hour layover in South Korea. Please pray for one of my team mates, Christian. He has been sick in bed for a few days now and doesn't seem to be showing many signs of improvement. Our team is praying for a quick recovery today so he won't be miserable on the long plane trip. If you would join us in that prayer, that would be awesome.

As I read through my blogs, I see how negative they could seem. This country is truly a dark place, and I don't want to cushion that blow. But there are so many great things happening here as well. There are organizations that are helping girls who are at risk. There are places that bring kids in for bible studies as a break from their hard lives working in brick factories and/or selling products on the streets. There are Christians who put themselves out there and risk their reputations for the name of Christ. So as you pray for our team and for the country of Cambodia, find encouragement in knowing that there are amazing people at work here.

Our last day with Rahabs House, we were talking with some of the disciples who help with the spiritual formation of the young kids. One thing that was said during this time, one of the disciples said something that I hadn't really given a ton of thought to. She said something along the lines of: I wouldn't be able to do this alone. The long hours would kill me.  There's no way I would have energy to be with kids everyday the way I am if I didn't have Christ. He's the one that gives me strength. I don't love these kids because of my own heart; I love them because God gave me a love for them.

I thought it was so inspirational. She heard God calling her to this evangelism and listened. She followed whole heartedly. I am so inspired by people here who have been through so much and still have a smile on their face and tell you God is good. I found the same encouragement through this girl than I did in Sam from Battambang.

So even though there's undeniable darkness here, there are glimmers of hope. I will continue to pray for this country forever. God is definitely at work here...we just have to keep praying and pleading for Him to move in this place.

Oh! And please pray for rain. They are encountering a draught and almost all of their countries income is from crops!
